A legal Document Assistant (LDA) is an experienced professional who is authorized under California law to assist the public in preparing legal documents for consumers.
However, as LDA is not an attorney, and cannot provide legal advice, or represent individuals in court
After owning my own coffee shop for several years in the Russian River
area of Sonoma County, I decided I was getting too old to work that hard!
So in 2003 I decided it was time to move down south to Lake Isabella onto
the family property and be a starving artist.
So while I was being an artist, I began working for Diana Wade, then a
LDA, as her assistant, typing legal documents at her instruction. She taught
me everything I know, gave me her business, and continues to mentor me to this day, though she is now a very successful Social Security Disability
I then went to Paralegal College, became a registered and bonded Legal
Document Assistant and Notary Public and opened my own office in Lake
Isabella, where I prepared legal documents for over 10 years. I joined the
California Association of Legal Document Assistants (CALDA) and served
on their Board of Directors. In addition I am a member of the National
Notary Association, in good standing.
In 2013 I bought a home in Tehachapi and opened a 2nd office there. Joined the Chamber of Commerce and continued building my business.
In 2016 I opened a 3rd office in Bakersfield, downtown, and am enjoying the city life working close to the courts and other city and county agencies, and meeting the people I only knew over the phone all these many years!
So...I’m working hard, yet again, but...I LOVE IT !
It’s really important to me that you feel comfortable. That you understand
what it is we need to do to get your situation handled and your paperwork
done and taken care of. When you leave my office you will know that I will
take care of it for you in an accurate and timely manner. You won’t have to
worry about it anymore.
If there’s one thing I’m really good at....it’s doing things as right as
possible. I pay attention. I listen to what you have to say. I write it down.
When I do your paperwork, I do it right. I check it. I double check it.
I have a very good reputation through-out the county. References are

At your direction, LDA’s can complete court forms for you to avoid pitfalls and to make sure that every important detail on a form is accounted for. LDA’s may also file the forms with the court, serve them on the appropriate parties and manage the process. LDA’s may also supply books and publications authored, written or approved by attorneys.
I can prepare most documents, including Deeds, Notes secured by Deeds of Trust, Assignments of Deeds of Trust, mobile home transfers, Affidavits Death of Joint Tenant or Trustee, Deeds-in Lieu of Foreclosure, Deeds of Reconveyance, Substitution of Trustee and Trust Transfer Deeds, among others. I have a subscription with Realquest for obtaining missing current deeds and property transaction histories.
I prepare many other legal papers for people who don’t wish to hire an attorney, including Estate Planning, Trusts, Wills and Powers of Attorney. I also do court filings including Probate, and others. I’m always adding to my ...repertoire!
